Volatile, manipulative sorceress of Greek Myth, summoned as a Caster-Class Servant to fight in a magical war between Magi in present day Japan. Known as the 'Witch of Betrayal', she makes herself look the part with her suspicious looking dark cloak, secretive manner, and underhanded to outright evil tactics. She's really, really bad at not playing herself off like evil-incarnate, but her true wish is to just go home to her beloved Souichirou-sama and finally have a happy ending as his wife. She left Avalon with the aim of finding her partner somewhere in the multiverse.

Sells a selection of potions for domestic / personal / arson-related use, and traditional Colchian wine that's brewed in-house.

Details: Used to make people or objects more resistant to fire. When applied to an object or to skin it prevents burning (including sunburn) and gives a small level of fire resistance. Protects against short-term exposure or standard temperature fires; does not protect against fires that burn hotter due to accelerants or magic. When applied to objects or skin, lasts 2 hours- when drunk, lasts 30 minutes, but has a stronger effect. Has a bitter taste.

Details: Makes whatever it's put on more flammable. It'll easily catch light when exposed to a flame or source of heat and burn fiercely. A shimmering golden potion sold in an easily concealed bottle, warm to the touch.

Details: Gets stains out of countertops, soft furnishings and wood, leaving the house looking spotless. The scent it leaves behind changes based on the season and it doesn't use any harmful chemicals or components. Fully protects surfaces for about an hour, the scent itself fades over a week or so. Comes in a bottle with a handy spray nozzle- just don't confuse it for perfume. The colour of the pale liquid inside changes to match the season, too.

Details: Used to reverse damage and wear from clothing. Specifically, it reverses the state of a garment back to before it was damaged, so it doesn't leave a trace. Larger tears older than a week can't be fully repaired- long-term wear and tear can be fixed, but the older the damage is, the less effect the potion has. It only works on inanimate objects, so it can't be used to close wounds.

Details: Prevents the drinker from needing sleep- allowing them to stay awake longer. Whilst under its effects it is physically impossible to sleep naturally, even if desired. Effects will last one night per potion. Use of this potion for up to two nights without sleep deprivation effects is possible, but three or four nights will result in severe side-effects. Five nights may result in fatal insomnia unless counteracted by a strong healer.

Details: Induces the drinker into a deep, dreamless sleep. A simple sleeping draught. Unfortunately it doesn't stop cognitive mages from interfering and the sleeper can't be woken up until it wears off. Depending on the dose it takes between 15 mins - 1 hour to fall asleep, after which the drinker sleeps for 7-10 hours. Side effects of using this long term haven't been tested yet, but it's probably not good for you.

Moodia (Causes one who consumes it to have their colors change with their emotions. Effects can last anywhere between an hour to two days.)
Scramble Ramble (After consumption, the translation spell that runs throughout Avalon will not work for 1 hour. No one will be able to understand the character's spoken, written, or symbolic language unless they speak the same language.)

Pheromia (A potion that causes about an hour of attention to be drawn to you from all living things. It is labeled for use drawing in prey for hunting, but off the label, it will make other people notice you as well. It cannot overwhelm someone's willpower or make them like you, but they will find themselves attracted to you while it is in effect.)
First Aid (Stabilizes a gravely wounded person's vitals to allow their rescuer to transport them to a healer. Does not heal; only buys time (15 mins-1 hour, depending on severity of the wound). This potion is created from a tincture made with spiders from the Vital Venoms quest.)
Chameleon Facial (Put on this face mask and you'll not only have moisturized, fresh looking skin.. but it'll be so fresh, it'll be someone else's! The Chameleon Facial mask can be used to change your face to match someone else's. Does not change height or build, so use with caution. Magical effects last for 1 hour, beautiful skin will last for weeks as long as you stay hydrated.)
Counter Curse (A potion that reverses one simple curse. (Will have no effect on ritual-enacted curses or advanced fairy curses.))

(Recipe) Figure Anima (Makes your figures move in place and say popular lines as if they're an actual, miniature version of the character. People have been known to have their own emotions influence the spell, and sometimes toys have started taking on the attitude of the caster.)
(Recipe) Familiar Symbiosis (Condense your magic for an hour by allowing your familiar to possess you. May result in mild alterations to your outfit, hair color, add parts of your familiar such as horns/ears/tail/whatever is applicable. It will increase your magic capabilities significantly during this time, but causes a huge drain of energy. While you will be a badass for an hour, you may need to sleep it off for a full day after. Recommended for emergency use only.)
(Recipe) Visivi per i maghi (Comes in a fancy, rhinestone-lined bottle. The liquid itself is filled with gold glitter. It smells like one of those fancy perfumes that has whale vomit or tiger urine in it. Instead of attracting attention, however, it will hide your non-visual presence (cannot be sensed by scent, blood, soul/aura, cognitive presence, aura, etc.) for between 20-30 minutes. The timespan seems to vary with each use, which makes its use dangerous for longer uses. You can still be visibly seen (especially in the sun with all that glitter) so take precautions to hide the rest.)
(Recipe) Wire Writhe (A spell that pulls wires out of the nearest machine to tie up whoever the spell is directed at.)

(Item) X-Friend Arm (A pillow shaped like a chest and an arm. Cuddle up and go to sleep in its embrace and you are guaranteed hypothetical dreams about you and a potential significant other. How intimate these dreams are may vary from person to person. Comes in multiple gendered and non-binary models. Can be custom ordered for different species.)

Q1: You've been stranded on a desert island with only one standard-size travel suitcase. If you could only have 3 items in that suitcase, what would you want those items to be and why?

I wouldn't be able to fit my staff in a case like that, would I? Hm.

As a Servant, I don't need to eat and I can create shelter with my magic, so that is less of a concern, but the lack of a mana source would pose a problem... I could last a couple of days without one, but I'd want to set up a field I could use to draw mana from the local wildlife as soon as I could. Ritual components would be useful for that, and for working out a way to escape home.

...Unless of course I could take the Holy Grail itself with me. Haha...wouldn't that be convenient? Oh, I'm well aware taking it so I can wish for everything I need when I get there would be cheating, but do you really think that bothers me?

If none of those were an option, I suppose something to pass the time. A couple of tools to build a diorama from the materials around the island, perhaps. At the very least I'd need a decent knife.

Q2: Tell us about a defining event in your life that you think influenced who you are today (tw: murder/dismemberment)

Just one? Let me see... hmph. I don't want to talk about that man, if that's what you're looking for.

[Jason...it was foolish to ignore his role in this, wasn't it? After all, everything begun to unravel when he and his band of supposed 'heroes' arrived in Colchis. That moment when the Goddess of Beauty twisted my heart - for she favoured that wretched man - and forced me to turn against my family and country for someone I barely knew.

That moment when I left Colchis for the first time with Jason - cutting apart the pieces of my brother's body and leaving them in our wake - that was when my path down the bloody road of betrayal had truly begun. And when it all came apart and I was left alone in an unknown country at the end of that journey, my homeland had never felt further away.

I wonder, sometimes, what my life would have been like, had Aphrodite's spell never taken its hold? Perhaps I never would have left my Kingdom and family at all. Certainly, the bloodshed would have been lessened, and Jason would have never been given the chance to use and discard me.

On that subject...]

But, I suppose it was my revenge against him where I earned my infamous place in legend. So, in a way, it was that which truly defined who I was in the eyes of others. As 'Medea, the Witch of Betrayal'.

Q3: What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family? (tw: murder)

I...burned those bridges a long time ago. After all, I was someone prepared to kill and betray even members of my own family to achieve my ends. I doubt any connected to me by blood would speak my name kindly.

[That was a painful topic, and I hoped I might be able to hide those feelings from slipping out in my voice, at least. My past from the Age of Gods was not something I wished to dwell on for any length of time. Nor the pain and suffering I brought upon them.

I had betrayed my family, and in turn Jason had betrayed me. And in turn again, I had betrayed him, burning that bridge literally and figuratively.

What else was there to say on the cycle of betrayal and death that swirled around me?

But, I suppose things had changed somewhat since I became a Servant and the fifth Holy Grail War had began in earnest.]

The truth now is...I wanted to settle down with my Master, Souichirou-sama. I wished I could be with him, as his wife. With the Holy Grail war that wasn't a possibility, but I wanted to prolong the time we had together. He was loyal, and helped me without question when I came close to death. I've never known a man show me such kindness and devotion like that.

Q4: Tell me about a time you were involved in a personal conflict (not a physical fight). What would you do differently to resolve it? (tw: murder...again.../self-harm mention/suicide mention)

Well, physical strength has never been my forte. If I can avoid a direct physical fight, I will, especially against Servants like Saber who are resistant to my magic. So, I try to find other ways to get what I want, whether it's puppeting other people or outright manipulating them. It's not that I don't have confidence in my own power, but resorting to such tactics, unsavoury though they were, was the most reliable way to win the war.

I do wish I'd had the chance to perfect the magic I used to draw power from the people of Fuyuki City, though... Souichirou-sama was not a Magus, so could not provide me with the mana I needed to remain in the world and keep fighting the War. So, I thought I could use the temple where we were based as a central point to draw power from the populous through the city's laylines. But, it was a difficult spell to use so precisely, with the low mana humans possess.

I ended up drawing far too much, and killing numerous innocent people in the process. Believe it or not, I never intended that to happen. It drew a lot of unwanted attention to us as well.

Even in my history, it was the same. My unpleasant tactics earned ire from Jason's allies for my use of trickery, deception and dark magic in achieving our goals. It's why we were chased out the kingdom and sought refuge in Corinth begin with. I suppose it's to be expected. They only saw me as an evil, treacherous witch, and it wasn't as if I had the power to refute their claims.

But that doesn't answer your question, does it? What would I do differently in those conflicts? I can't think of anything. Aside from making the foolish mistake of trusting Archer not to stab me in the back, there was nothing wrong with my strategy! I wasn't the one to blame, I was using whatever I had on hand!

Even when I came into conflict with my first Master, I don't think I would have done anything differently. You see, Souichirou-sama wasn't the one who summoned me to begin with... that 'honour' went to a vulgar coward of a man from the Mage's Association. He belittled and insulted me any chance he could get - envious that I was a more competent Magus than he was, and seeing me as lesser than the other Servants.

Although I gave up on winning the war with him within days, I couldn't combat him directly thanks to the Command Seals he had over me, and he'd already used one to see to it that I would not be able to use my Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker, to attack him. So... I could either manipulate him into wasting the other two, or take matters into my own hands.

It was clear he would try to get rid of me in exchange for a pact with another Servant, so I bided my time and placated him where I could, until he left to make such arrangements.

I burned his primitive Magecraft lab to the ground, and broke off our contract by using Rule Breaker on myself. He tried to order me to take my own life with the remaining Command Seals he had when he realised what I'd done, but of course that no longer worked. I toyed with him for a while, just to make sure he knew exactly who he had wronged, before burning him alive. It was nothing less than he deserved... such an arrogant man.

But, killing my Master like that was a reckless choice. As I said, we need a contract with a Master to remain in the world, as our existence depends on them providing us with a source of mana. If Souichirou-sama hadn't found me when he did, I would have disappeared before the War even began in earnest. In hindsight, I'm not sure what I would have done differently, but perhaps I should have siphoned more mana from him beforehand.

Q5: Do you have any regrets? If so, what are the biggest ones? If not, what is something you wish you had gotten to do back home?

I don't regret my revenge, before you ask that. Jason deserved to watch it all burn, knowing that it was his punishment for betraying me.

[My biggest regret... I regret leaving my homeland to start with, but it was never just that, was it? All along, I was used, controlled and twisted by others. Whether it was a Goddess twisting my mind to her whims- or when I killed my first Master, how I would disappear before I could fight- being summoned only for my will to be trampled upon once again.

The people called me a witch. The one person I relied upon back in the Age of Gods discarded me.

It was as if they needed someone to blame for their own darkness, their own misery, the ugliness in the world, and I had none to defend me from those accusations. If that is what they wanted... then I would accept those claims and show them exactly what a 'terrible witch' I could be.

I existed as an entity of revenge and betrayal, controlled and discarded by the whims of others.]

Do I regret what became of me? Perhaps. Still, what use is there in trying to change that? I am not the innocent little Princess I once was.

I think... Souichirou-sama gave me hope. I'm sure there are plenty I fought in that war who would accuse the methods I used of being evil, but... I wouldn't let any of them take away my happiness. I did what I had to, in order to preserve my life and the time I had with him.
